The longevity category covers compounds studied in research on cellular ageing, immune signalling and oxidative stress. Epithalon is the synthetic tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, studied in telomerase and cell-culture work. Thymosin alpha-1 (thymalfasin) and thymalin, a thymic polypeptide complex, are used in immune research. VIP (vasoactive intestinal peptide) is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide, and LL-37 is the only human cathelicidin, an antimicrobial peptide. Glutathione is the tripeptide antioxidant found in nearly every cell, supplied here in its reduced form.
